Cutting and marking sails for production

In the spring of 2010, as oil spilled into the Gulf of Mexico, the nation and the world watched aghast. As everyone scrambled to find a way to cap the well our hearts went out to the residents along the Gulf Coast–people whose lives and livelihoods had been disrupted.

SeaHope began with a heartfelt need to help these people in some way and a small team began looking for the best way to do so….and the SeaHope Messenger Bag was born. Our vision was and is to create a product which represents the livelihoods that have been lost–partnerships with the sea. Using recycled sails and nautical hardware, we present a product which reflects a commitment to action, to the residents of the Gulf Coast, and to the earth and its waters.

Net proceeds from bag sales will be used to create a fund which will help the people along the Gulf.

The oil well may be capped but there is much mending to be done along our Gulf Coast. While mainstream media would like us to believe that the water is being miraculously cleaned and restored, the people in that region know better. The impact of this spill has only begun to be recognized.

This effort is truly a partnership. Working with organizations in Wisconsin and Louisiana, we developed the design for the original SeaHope bag and worked through the prototype process. Your Messenger Bag purchase or financial donation makes you a partner as well.
